Eligible clientele:
All licensed health professionals interested in improving clinical outcomes, wishing to practice from a more BPSS lense and interested in integrating yoga into health care.
Concepts and tools learned in this course will have immediate clinical applicability. Because of its broad based therapeutic effects, Medical Yoga Therapy can be used in an array of clinical environments and with varied patient populations. Some examples, but not limited to these: MSK/Orthopaedics (all conditions), Neurology (Parkin- son’s, MS, ALS, Stroke, etc), Arthritis (OA and RA), Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain, Pelvic floor Pain/Dysfunction, Post-Surgical Conditions, Cancer, Cardiorespiratory, Obesity, Diabetes, Chronic Stress, Mental Health, etc..
Pre-requistes
This is a 1 day introductory course for health care professionals (HCPs) on how to integrate yoga into their clinical practice. Prior yoga experience a strong asset but not absolutely necessary. HCPs with knowledge of anatomy, and prior experience in observing and evaluating posture and movement, would reap the most benefit from this course.

At the end of this course, participants will:
Know what Medical Yoga Therapy (MYT) is.
Understand the scientifically supported effects and mechanisms of action of MYT.
Know how to evaluate and treat patients through the Bio-psycho-social-spiritual Lense
Understand the Pentagon of Wellness approach of the MYT model.
Know how to use some MYT tools and techniques for evaluation and treatment of patients.
Be able to integrate MYT into their own particular health care environment and with varying patient populations.
Have a basic foundation of MYT that can be used for future MYT courses and certification as a Medical Yoga Therapist.
